We offer outsourced, on-call Public Information Officer (PIO) services.
We’re the professionals to contact when you need communications assistance during or after a critical incident, a natural disaster or a routine public safety event that warrants getting the word out or one that is attracting media attention.
We will deploy teams to manage the media short-term or help you handle the day-to-day duties of a Public Information Officer on an on-going basis. We’ll help you write your press releases and social media posts; we’ll assist you in handling media inquiries and conducting interviews.
We could do as little as review and offer revisions to a press release or as much as the development and management of a comprehensive media strategy. 
Andy Skoogman is the Chief Strategy Officer for PIO 911. Few people have such a diverse background in law enforcement, media relations, crisis communications and journalism. The former Executive Director of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association and Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, Andy has been a PIO in public safety agencies at the municipal, county and state levels.
He draws from this vast experience provide strategic counsel during a critical incident, a communications crisis or a routine media encounter.

Day-to-Day PIO Duties
Most law enforcement or fire agencies do not have a dedicated full-time Public Information Officer (PIO). Many agencies assign an officer to handle PIO duties “when needed.” Typically, those officers have little to no experience and are in over their heads even with day-to-day requests and issues. Our team can serve as an outsourced PIO to handle all of this, including writing press releases, media interview talking points, social media, blog and website posts.
Content Production (Livestream Events, Podcasts & Videos)
Developing original, compelling written and multi-media content is critical to tell your agency’s story. Our team of former journalists and photojournalists can research, write, produce and edit articles/blogs/Letters to the Editor and professional, broadcast quality multimedia content such as videos and podcasts. Media Training
We’ll make sure your staff is trained on the how to talk to reporters and best deliver your message in a variety of interview formats. Spokesperson Services
The Skoogman Group also offers spokesperson services. If you do not feel comfortable doing the interviews yourself, we will speak to the media on your behalf.
